    Etsy Inc., Brooklyn, New York, 2013-2017

    From June of 2013 until May of 2017, I was one of two Office Hackers at Etsy's various headquarters in Brooklyn.

    Responsibilities, to name a few:

    • Designing and implementing custom hardware and software to make office life both more magical and more manageable. Some examples: DivertsyRFID device checkout system
    • Primary Stakeholder in the Etsy Labs, a, responsible for purchasing, installation, upkeep and training of community equipment including an Epliog Fusion 60 watt laser, an Othermill milling machine, and various fused filament style 3D printers (Makerbot 2x, Ultimaker Pro, Type A Series 1, and serveral Printerbot metal)
    • 3rd Party Integrations of company data or infrastructure with various hardware or software as service for internal teams. Services include SlackEnvoyOfficespace, Ecometrica, Crestron, Vidyo, Google Hangouts, Kubi, to name just a few.


    Etsy Inc., Brooklyn, New York, 2008-2013

    Producing web-based documentaries about people who make things by hand. Responsibilities include researching stories, casting, shooting, logging, editing, composing/producing original music, and publishing to the web and iTunes. Produced content for four different series, including Etsy's flagship Handmade Portraits series which was shortlisted in the series category for the 2012 Vimeo awards, and nominated for the 2013 Webby awards.

    O’reilly Media, Brooklyn, New York, 2006-2008

    This position started as an internship position at Make Magazine, and quickly evolved into a full time position shooting and editing weekly video podcasts making custom DIY electronics projects. Additional responsibilities include shooting and editing online videos of Make Magazine/O'Reilly events and blogging.


    The Evergreen State College, Olympia Washington, 2005-2006

    Worked as an A/V technical support aid for students, faculty, and visiting lecturers/filmmakers. Provided instruction and aid of program workshops including audio, video, animation, and filmmaking. Built and maintained program website.


    Kois Center, Seattle, Washington, 2003-2005

    (Formerly the Center for Creating Restorative Excellence)
    Technical Aid to the Director, responsible for producing multi-cast educational videos using custom hardware and software platforms (e.g. Crestron, Wolf-Vision). Produced in-house, and affiliate educatoinal videos on advanced dental procedures such as bone grafts and implant surgeries. 

    Additional responsibilities include scanning and color-correction of 35mm slide archives for presentations, as well as A/V support for live presentations.

    AUDIO ENGINEER (Internship)

    Glenn Sound, Seattle, Washington, 2003

    Responsibilities include recording and mixing audio for film, video, and radio applications as well as quality control for spots and dubbing/duplication/backups. Clients include: National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS), Virginia Mason, Fred Meyer, Banner Bank, Tulalip Casino, Ben Bridge, Taco Del Mar, KNDD 107.7 FM, and Car Toys.

    GRAPHIC DESIGNER (Internship)

    Chesapeake Display & Packaging Company, Los Angeles, California, 2000

    Responsibilities include graphic and 3D display design for point-of-purchase packaging solutions. Clients include: Rayovac Batteries, Universal Studios, Paramount Pictures, Kodak, and Nestle.

    I'm a long-standing member of NYC Resistor. I've been around since it's inception in 2007. NYC Resistor is a hacker collective with a shared space located in downtown Brooklyn. We meet regularly to share knowledge, hack on projects together, and build community.
